Dexter Pup
The Dexter Pup is the perfect amp for home or studio— maybe even small gigs! “I really like amps that break up at reasonable volumes. There’s just something about how a tube amp sounds when it’s working really hard.” The Pup’s circuit is based on the original Fender Champ, but we’ve taken it a few steps further. First of all, we’ve done away with the tinny-sounding speaker in favor of a 10” Weber speaker that does an equally good job with clean tones and overdrive. We’ve also changed the tone structure of the amp to allow it to perform better under all circumstances. Finally, we’ve designed the Pup with a bigger, burlier output transformer for shockingly full bass. You can turn the Pup all the way up and it will stay punchy and tight, but you can also roll the volume knob down for warm, full clean tones that are perfect for recording or bedroom playing. We thought about adding some extra bells and whistles, but at the end of the day, the Pup only needs one knob to do the job.
